Pets Best Insurance

Any pet lovers out there? I don’t know that I’d put myself in the “Pet Lover” category but I am a pet owner.  Ginny is the 1 1/2 year old Havanese/Yorkshire Terrier member of our family. Or “The Dog” as I call her. She was purchased for a very specific purpose -to help our middle [...]

Dolphin Experience turns your iPhone into aquatic entertainment. You choose from three water environments and four different times of day. Next you’ll have dolphins on your screen and it’s up to you what you want to do with them. Do you feed them? Have them do tricks? Snorkel under the water with them? The dolphins [...]

Pimp My Ultrasound

Pimp My Ultrasound is just plain old, silly iPhone fun. The idea is to take your ultrasound photo and jazz it up a bit.  The app provides you with all sorts of accessories to add to your picture – hats, sunglasses, and conversation bubbles just to name a few. The “take tour” section was well [...]

Lego Indiana Jones 2

Another break in iPhone talk…Looks like Lego Indiana Jones 2 is going to be released. New levels including some from Indy and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I think the “build your own level” feature looks like fun for my older kids. We love the Lego video games at our house and can’t wait [...]

iStorytime – The Reading Bug

The Reading Bug is another title from the  iStorytime collection. I loved the message behind this story. A chameleon wants to catch the “Reading Bug” so he can learn how to read. He looks to his favorite bug catching friends for help but it’s no use. Eventually he winds up at the library where what [...]

Spelling Soup

I don’t know what’s more adorable about Spelling Soup – the illustrations or the sweet English girls who narrate it. Listening to them made me smile! In this app you see an illustration and hear the girls say the word. Tap “flip over” and there are letters on the screen. The letters have to be [...]

Sparkz

Sparkz is currently my son’s favorite iPhone game and quickly becoming one of my favorites too. It’s one of those simple concepts that’s executed well and will totally suck you in. The design of the game is reminiscent (that’s a big word for a tired mom) of classic arcade games.  You begin in an arena [...]

iOS 5.01 Released: Includes Fix For iOS 5.0 Battery Life Issue

iOS 5 Gets Its First Update Thanks to my husband Zack for getting this post out about the new iOS 5.1 release. I’ve yet to install the update…but I’ll be following his instructions below. Shortly after the iPhone 4S hit the market a bug was discovered that severely impacted battery life on those new devices. [...]

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
