BabySitter Connect

A little while ago I reviewed the app Baby Connect. It was an app that really impressed me and I think it could be extremely helpful for mom’s who work outside the home. Now the developers have a new app called BabySitter Connect. It’s very similar to the original BabyConnect except it’s only $.99 and [...]

Baby Bump

My pregnancy ship sailed over four months ago when Baby J was born but the experience is fresh enough that I can still appreciate a nice pregnancy app. And Baby Bump is a nice one, a very nice one in fact. Apparently the folks at Apple think so too because it’s made their “What’s Hot” [...]

iBooBoo

There have been times when my kids have gotten a scrape or cut and gone hysterical on me. Hysterical to the point of my thinking that they must have lost a limb but I’ve got no way to find out because they won’t calm down long enough for me to check. When I do get [...]

ICE4family

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that the ICE4me app had gone pink in support of breast cancer research. They’ve done the same thing with their family version, ICE4family. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this special version will be donated. Here are my thoughts on the pink ICE4me app. And my [...]

Point Inside

It’s almost that time of year again. The time where we all struggle to remember the Spirit of Christmas as we head out for shopping and long lines.  I’m not a big shopper and I’m definitely not a big fan of the mall, at anytime of the year. The ironic thing is that my kids [...]

Sort Slider & Sound Shaker

Today I’m looking at two apps from zinc Roe.  Both are bright and colorful and recommended for ages 3-5. Sort Slider   Sort Slider presents the outlines of two different shapes. Then there is a third shape (presented in color) that sits in between the outlines. Your child needs to tilt the iPhone to move [...]

The Birthday by BookBoing

The Birthday is an interactive storybook app that will get your child actively involved in the story. It begins as a typical tale but then starts to ask your child to answer questions about what characters should do. By answering correctly they help move the story forward.  Questions might involve counting, patterns, problem solving, etc. [...]

Serving Sizer Recipe Converter

My inbox has been full of the best apps lately – you developers have been on a roll! Serving Sizer came my way and I must say that it is a TERRRIFIC tool for moms. It gives you the ability to take a recipe and tweak it to fit your family’s size. Say for instance [...]

Peekaboo Barn & Peekaboo Wild

Peekaboo Barn Many moons ago I tried out Peekaboo Barn Lite and I was not a fan.  I thought the app was cute but only getting three animals was a turnoff for me. So I am very happy to report that I really, really like the full version of Peekaboo Barn. This version includes many [...]

Beauty Minder

I was asked to review Beauty Minder and it got me thinking that I wish I had the time to go and beautify myself more often. The concept behind this app is to have the ability to store all of your beauty appointments in one location. It comes preset for the categories of hair, nails, [...]

iOS 5.01 Released: Includes Fix For iOS 5.0 Battery Life Issue

iOS 5 Gets Its First Update Thanks to my husband Zack for getting this post out about the new iOS 5.1 release. I’ve yet to install the update…but I’ll be following his instructions below. Shortly after the iPhone 4S hit the market a bug was discovered that severely impacted battery life on those new devices. [...]

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
