The official name of this app is 225 Outdoor Games – the Best Outdoor Game Ideas for Kids Aged 2-16. I have to agree with the title, it is a very comprehensive list that includes games from around the world. The app has been nicely designed and allows you to either browse through the entire list or narrow things down a bit. The 225 games can be filtered by age, game duration, country of origin and needed materials. Also included is a world map, depicting the continents. You may tap on a continent to pull up a list of games from that area’s countries. A “shake” option will select random games. And if 225 games isn’t a big enough list for you then go ahead and add in your own.
Each game is depicted in a cartoon that shows children playing the game. A quick glance will show the game’s age range, duration and the setup and material requirements. A more detailed description is included along with observations about game play. As you read about these games you can give them a star rating and/or save them to a “playground”.
225 Outdoor Games has been well put together and I think it’s an excellent resource for group games.
