King of Words Review
The Pros:Fast-paced, challenging, fun
Improve your spelling skills and have hours of fun playing this entertaining and addicting word game!
Looking for a fun way to practice your spelling skills? Well, then look no further! King of Words is definitely the app for you! This fast-paced and exciting word game will put your spelling skills to the test as you match up against virtual opponents to make words and score points to find out which of you is truly a “King of Words”!
In this game, you are paired against an opponent of your choosing. You can either pick a random player to challenge or find and challenge your friends! Each player is given a pool of 90 letter tiles to draw from. The object of the game is to spell as many words as possible in 3 minutes. The more words you spell, the more points you accumulate. You can also earn defensive and offensive tools to throw at your opponent to make their game more challenging. For example, you can throw ice at them that “freeze up” their letters making them un-usable. You can also earn “multipliers” that increase your points from a word by 2x, 4x, 8x, etc. Remember, the whole time you are trying to spell words your opponent is drawing from the same tile selection so some letters you may want or need will disappear before your eyes! If you are up for more of a challenge, you can enter tournaments to increase your skill level and compete for prizes.
I am a big fan of word games and this one is definitely one of my favorites. I love the fast-paced nature of the game and the fact that you are competing with another player for letters. It makes it even more of a challenge. My strategy was always to try and use the higher-scoring tiles before my opponent could and accumulate more points. Anyway you play this game it is guaranteed to be fun. It is also a fabulous way to encourage your school aged children to practice spelling and reading. King of Words is also FREE which is an added bonus! If you are a really serious player, you can purchase additional coins and prizes in-app to use for tournament play and to purchase the offensive and defensive tools I mentioned earlier. I loved this app and I am sure you will too! See if you have what it takes to be the “King of Words”!
