Sometimes my iPhone gets a little bogged down. I think I ask too much of it. I’ll have an app open and decide okay, now I want to listen to music, no, I think I want to check email, no, let’s browse the internet. iPhone ADD. Sometimes my poor little phone just can’t take it anymore and it freezes up on me. This can be very frustrating. It’s an iPhone for goodness sake. It’s supposed to do anything I want, anytime I ask. Maybe this has happened to you too. Here’s how you get your phone back up and going again. Ready?

Hold down the home button and the power button – at the same time. I usally do this for 20-30 seconds. Sometimes the phone will turn off on it’s own. Sometimes I’ll get the power down screen. It depends on how frozen the phone has been. I usually go ahead and power down just to be safe. When your phone is off wait a minute and then turn it back on. This should work.

If your phone is being really stubborn try synching up with your computer. My opinion is that the phones need to touch base with the Apple mother ship every once in awhile. I think it keeps them happy.  If things continue to freeze take a look at what apps you’ve recently added to your phone. Delete those and then see if the problem stops. Some apps suggest powering down your iPhone before using them for the first time. I’ve found this to be very good advice.

Thank you so much!! My iPhone froze up on me while I was deleting apps and I was a little panicked when I couldn’t get out of the settings screen. I could do anything in settings I wanted but nothing else. This was very very helpful and I will try to remember this in the future if it happens again.
