Here is an app that works like your own personal assistant but you won’t need to remember to send it flowers on Secretary’s Day. Or is it Administrative Assistant’s Day now?? Either way, you’re covered. Personal Assistant gives you the ability to store and keep track of your online accounts from the following areas: Finance, Social, Utilities, Shopping, Travel and Email. The idea is to have one login that gives you access to ALL of your accounts. Saving you time and the task of trying to remember all your different passwords.
Once you’ve downloaded the app and signed up for an account visit Pageonce’s website, www.pageonce.com, and set up the rest of your Personal Assistant. Adding online accounts is streamlined and simple. You choose the area you want (Finance, Social, etc.) and then click on the plus sign. Next you’ll see a list of what’s available in that area. For example, if you go to the Finance section you’ll see a list of different banks, credit cards, etc. that you can track in Personal Assistant. Choose yours and then enter in the login information for that account. It might take a few minutes to get the information but be patient. Some accounts might make you go through additional steps to completely verify your account. Add as many accounts in as many areas as you like. I added my Facebook account (Social), my Hotmail (Email), Netflix (Shopping) and AT&T Wireless (Utilities). After establishing everything you’ll only need to remember your login for Personal Assistant. Login (through the web or your iPhone app) and your online accounts will be available and updated.
After going through the website you’ll find that the Personal Assistant app is very clean and straightforward. You can use it to access the online accounts. You can view updates to those accounts so that you know exactly what’s what. (For instance, when I check an update I see new Hotmail messages and the status of my Netflix queue.) If you’ve established financial accounts you can check your balances and transactions through the app. The travel button will allow you to see your itineraries and extra details like weather and flight information.
A Personal Assistant is certified by TRUSTe, MacAfee Secure and VeriSign. You can click here to read more about how they keep your personal information safe. I’ll admit that I was a Nervous Nellie and didn’t add any of my financial online accounts. The service appears to be completely safe but I wanted to give it a trial run before committing those passwords.
Overall I found both the Personal Assistant website and the iPhone app to be extremely easy to use. It will take dedicating some time to get all of your accounts established but having all the information in one central location will be worth the time. The ability to then have that information on the go through your iPhone is fantastic. Anything that makes life simpler and more efficient is a winner in my book.
