Alphabet Blocks

Alphabet Blocks is an app that makes use of two things kids enjoy: the alphabet and the iPhone’s accelerometer.  Tap the screen and an alphabet block will appear. Now tilt the iPhone and watch the block slide around. Tap again and again and again to get ABC blocks popping up everywhere. They’ll slide and tumble and topple around the screen. Once you’ve gotten to the Z block then you’re back to A again. On the main menu you can also select “Number blocks”. It’s the same idea but uses numbers instead of the alphabet. The “All Mixed Up” option uses ABC and number blocks, all mixed up of course.

My kids and I have found Alphabet Blocks to be great fun. The combination of blocks, the accelerometer and learning is a great one. Well done!

Individual Text Tones for Contacts

My 9 year old daughter told me about an iOS 5 feature that I was totally unaware of until last week. Miss S. showed me how to set up individual text tones for my contacts.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
