Amazing Animals: Savanna

Amazing Animals: Savanna takes you on a tour of an African Savanna. Twelve animals live in this app and you can see them by swiping your finger across the screen and exploring the plain. When an animal appears on your screen you’ll want to tap on it to hear it’s name and the sounds it makes. Then swipe the screen again to discover a new animal.

The animals are beautifully drawn and this is a very nice looking app. The sound effects work with the concept and the animal sounds are realistic. Older children will probably want more from an app than tapping and animal sounds but Amazing Animals: Savanna will appeal to younger children, I’d say toddlers and young preschoolers.

A coloring book you can print out is also available at the developers website.

Individual Text Tones for Contacts

My 9 year old daughter told me about an iOS 5 feature that I was totally unaware of until last week. Miss S. showed me how to set up individual text tones for my contacts.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
