Animal Coloring Book

Now this is the type of coloring book app that I like! There’s nothing complicated about it, exactly what you want for young kiddos. You choose a theme – bugs, jungle, farm or ocean – then you choose a picture to color. The pictures are simple without tiny, extra details. Now tap one of the colors on the wheel at the bottom of the screen and then tap the spot on the picture where you want to color. That section will fill up with the color. No moving your finger around the screen, trying to do the impossible and stay in the lines. Like I said, exactly what you want for young kiddos. Use your finger to “spin” the color wheel and you’ll see even more color choices. When you’re done you can tap save and the picture saves to photos or you can choose another picture to start over.

You can tell that the people at Juicebox Software have a great handle on how to design an app for kids. They keep them simple and colorful and they turn out delightful.

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded it for my toddler, we have an itouch just for him and he loved it. The hard part is taking it away, but I say – 2 more minutes and he’s happier knowing the event will come and not being surprised. I have a copy on my iphone so when I don’t remember to bring the other one.

What do you think???

Individual Text Tones for Contacts

My 9 year old daughter told me about an iOS 5 feature that I was totally unaware of until last week. Miss S. showed me how to set up individual text tones for my contacts.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
