Baby Piano

Baby Piano is geared towards kiddos who are nine months to three years old. The app features a set of piano keys with animals on the bottom of the screen. The keys are labeled “do, re, mi, fa, so, la and ti”. Maria von Trapp is not included. When you tap the key it’s animal pops up and sings a musical note. You have the option of creating your own music by tapping any keys you want, in any order. Or you can play a song by tapping the keys as they light up. In the “free play” mode you can record your music and then play it back again. At the top of the screen there is a hanging picture of piano keys. Tapping this puts you in the music mode that I’ve already mentioned. At the top there is also a flying pig. If you touch the piggy then the animals will make animal noises when you tap the keys. You can also record this and play it back. Over and over again.

I don’t think that you’re supposed to hand your iPhone over to your nine month old and let them go to town with Baby Piano. I’m assuming the idea is to play along with your baby. But I know plenty of three year olds who would love to get their hands on this app and tap out some “music”.

Price when Reviewed: $1.99

*There is also a free version of Baby Piano with limited recording ability.

WebMD Baby

WebMD Baby was released earlier this month and it is awesome! Seriously one of the best “baby” apps I’ve seen to date

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
