Baby Shusher & Promo Codes

March 10, 2011

Where was Baby Shusher 18 months ago when my Miss J was a two month old? That was just about the time when we were getting her feeding issues figured out but her Acid Reflux was still atrocious and there was a whole lot of crying going on in our house. From her and me both. I have a feeling this app could have provided a tremendous amount of sanity. We’re on the other side of those issues now and her crying is mainly because of the word “No” but I wanted to share Baby Shusher with all of you because I know there are others dealing with this issue.

There is really not much to Baby Shusher. You turn it on and the ap makes the “Shush, shush” sound that always seems to calm and sooth babies. The shushes are steady, rhythmic and even. I don’t know about you but after awhile when the crying wouldn’t stop my shushing would become less soothing and more anxious. Not the best calming influence I’m sure. Baby Shusher has a built in equalizer that will listen to the volume of your baby’s cry and then adjust the shushing accordingly. Loud cries = loud shushes. There is also a timer that will run the app from fifteen minutes up to eight hours. You can put the app in airplane mode, making sure no calls, texts or alerts come through to wake baby, and then leave it by your baby’s crib while they sleep.

Baby Shusher comes with a thorough FAQ section that goes over the app’s basics and when and how it should be used. It doesn’t advocate being used to replace other soothing techniques, in fact they highly recommend you also swaddle, swing, rock baby, etc. as well. In addition to the FAQs there is also a forum where parents can reach out and support one another. I think this is so important! At the time of this review forum topics included success stories, soothing tips and tricks, colic support and general baby care. Good stuff!

You might look at Baby Shusher’s price and think it’s a bit on the expensive side but I don’t even want to add up what I’ve spent on pacifiers, blankets, white noise makers, and on and on. This app would have been a drop in the bucket and priceless when it worked. My baby, toddler now I should say, no longer needs this but after listening to the app I believe it truly would have helped us when she was struggling. If you’d like to see the app in action you can view a demo video on the Baby Shusher website.

Now – good news for any readers struggling with a fussy baby! I have five Baby Shusher promo codes to give away. If you have an infant that’s under nine months of age and you could use some extra help please leave me a comment! I’ll be selecting five random winners on Saturday night. Good luck!

Ive had this app for one day. Both naps he has put himself to sleep in under five minutes. He has never put himself to sleep without crying before..until now. Tho he cried a tad the second nap he still seemed relaxed and was soon asleep with the shushing. He rarely relaxes so I am ecstatic to see this change…hope it continues.

What do you think???

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
