Belindra

Belindra is a quirky storybook app. As you go through the story you can tap on cherries scattered around the scenes. When you do this something will happens on the screen. I enjoyed these animations. The story is about helping others and has a good moral. The illustrations are unique and fun to look at.

However, I did have a couple of issues with Belindra. First of all, the words to the story are small and way up at the top of the screen. This wouldn’t be too bad if the story was also read aloud, but it’s not. I think either a read aloud option or an increase in type size would be a big help. If there’s going to be no read aloud option then maybe some nice background noise that goes along with the quirky feel of the story. The story itself is sweet but it felt like it jumped around a little too much. My last suggestion would be to get rid of the cherries and have things happen on the screen no matter where you tapped.

Just a few suggestions but Belindra is only a few weeks old and I’ll be watching to see where they take this cute character.

WebMD Baby

WebMD Baby was released earlier this month and it is awesome! Seriously one of the best “baby” apps I’ve seen to date

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
