But That Wasn’t the Best Part

But That Wasn’t the Best Part tells the tale of the International Banana Festival’s Grand Parade. The story does a great job describing all the sights and sounds of a parade. Some are traditional and some uniquely banana-ish. The narrator does a nice job and the sound effects liven things up quite a bit. You can choose to have the story read aloud to you or read it to yourself. I can honestly say that I didn’t see the ending coming and I was a little surprised at what the best part turned out to be. I don’t want to spoil it for you but it doesn’t involve circus animals, motor vehicles, clowns, balloons, magic tricks or money falling from the sky. It does involve something you can eat.  A child will probably love a story that ends with something you can eat.  And as I’m thinking about this…our neighboring town has an annual Dairy Days parade in the summer. During the parade they hand out little milk jugs and that is my kids favorite part.

Thank you iPhone Mom for the review of our app! Readers can find the inspiration for the story at Jerry Jindrich’s Website http://www.meddybemps.com. The publisher of this app is RhodeSoft’s Reading Rhino. (www.ReadingRhino.com) Sound effects in the story can be played separately by touching the sound words on the screen. So, go ahead and make your own story with the “clang-clang, toot-toot, puff-puff, woof-woof” and other sounds!

That looks great! I just bought my husband an iPad and am looking forward to adding kid-friendly books/apps to it!

WebMD Baby was released earlier this month and it is awesome! Seriously one of the best “baby” apps I’ve seen to date

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
