Do you dread medical forms as much as I do? School registration, sports registration, new patient forms, the paper trail goes on and on. I’m sure if you looked at all the forms I’ve filled out they’d all say slightly different things. It would depend on whether or not I filled the paperwork out at home where I had access to information and time to think or if I did it on the spot. If I was wrangling a toddler at the time then I’ll be lucky if the form has my correct date of birth on it. Filling out a form while holding a 20 month old who wants your pen is a feat. Enter Capzule PHR. Think of it as Capzule Personal Health Record. This is the app that will store all of your family’s personal health records. Up to 30 people! The app goes with you so you’ll never be at a loss for patient information again. Or better yet, print out the reports and have your doctor add those to your file. Avoid the writer’s cramp entirely.
So I love the concept, how did I feel about working with the app? Overall I thought it was a thorough health recording app and I really liked the interface. It’s done to look similar to an actual medical chart with tabs for the different things you’d want to track. I had an easy time entering in data and could definitely see myself sitting down and once and for all put everyone’s information into one key location. Capzule PHR will store your medical, family and social history. You can track medical conditions, medications and immunizations. There is a section for you to monitor your vitals and you can add in results from tests and procedures. These can be added from your computer, photo album, saved photos or camera. Capzule will graph and analyze your data and lab results. An interactive timeline is provided so you can see how things stack up over time. You can also enter in upcoming appointments and receive notifications when they’re coming up. Have I worn you out yet? For a more thorough (exhaustive?) list of features take a look at the Capzule PHR website .
I think that anyone who has ever had to fill out multiple medical forms at one time will appreciate how much of a game changer this app could be. The full version of the app costs $4.99 but they do offer a free version with limited features. If you try the free version and decide you want to upgrade then the website will walk you through how to transfer your data so you won’t have to reenter everything. In fact I found the website helpful in many ways, especially the app’s “How To” guide. I’d highly recommend going through that so you take full advantage of all of Capzule’s features.
One last note, the app is universal – designed for both iPhone and iPad. You can also import files from other apps if you’re switching over from another medical records app.
