iF Poems Giveaway for iPad and iPhone!

In February Heather did a review of iF Poems.  It’s an app she described as, “a lovely collection of poetry for children and adults.” One feature she mentioned that really appealed to me, for my kids, is the audio recordings that have been done by British actors. Sometimes the cadence of poems can be hard [...]

Kids Crosswords

Learning Touch has been patiently waiting for this review of Kids Crosswords! They sent me a copy in January before the app was released but then my family got sick. It took us weeks to recover, it’s never good when the mom gets sick too, and the app has been on the back of my [...]

Tell the Time – Learn the Time with Bubbimals

Tell the Time – Learn the Time with Bubbimals is a very cute app for helping children learn to read time and use a clock. The app is very cheerful and I enjoyed the voice over work, done by a young British gentleman. He speaks well when stating the time and is enthusiastic in telling [...]

Airy Jump

Airy Jump drove me crazy! I could not get the timing down on this game no matter how I tried. It’s tricky and for much better gamers than myself, people like my son. Airy Jump has you move a character on the screen, past obstacles, by jumping. As he lands he’ll slide a little bit [...]

Chess Academy for Kids by Geek Kids

I don’t know how to play Chess. I never learned and every time I try I find myself confused and with a headache. My oldest child on the other hand learned how to play last year and she quite enjoys the game which is why I asked for her help with the Chess Academy app. [...]

Brush of Truth

Brush of Truth is an e-book written for children ages 8-12 and it has interactive “decision points” and a variety of endings. It reminds me of the Choose Your Own Adventure books I used to check out from the library. Books I used to devour now gone hi-tech for my kids to enjoy. My nine [...]

Math Runner

Math Runner is crazy and if you have a child who has been reluctant to practice their Math facts then you might want to consider giving this app a try. I am not one for Math practice myself but I spent a good 15 minutes playing with this app because I had to prove to [...]

Hungry Rabbit

Hungry Rabbit is a fun and maddening app that’s part puzzle and part arcade game. Your goal is to help the blue rabbit collect carrots and cabbages, Sounds simple enough but you’ll have to dodge obstacles and send him through puzzles in order to complete the different levels. Levels become more complex and the puzzles [...]

Squeebles Promo Codes!

In February, Heather took a look at Times Tables: Squeebles Multiplication, an app that presents multiplication study in a save the world game mode.  Here is a little of what she had to say in her review. What I liked about Times Tables: Squeebles Multiplication was the overall friendliness of the game. Children have the [...]

Times Tables Code Grab

Learning multiplication facts can be challenging. In my day it required continuous repetition, but there are so many more options for our kids. The designers at Magnicode, Inc. have worked with teachers, parents and students to produce an efficient tool to make learning multiplication fun and easy. TimesTables uses visual, audio and tactile tools to [...]

iOS 5.01 Released: Includes Fix For iOS 5.0 Battery Life Issue

iOS 5 Gets Its First Update Thanks to my husband Zack for getting this post out about the new iOS 5.1 release. I’ve yet to install the update…but I’ll be following his instructions below. Shortly after the iPhone 4S hit the market a bug was discovered that severely impacted battery life on those new devices. [...]

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
