I love the first line in the App Store description for Number Bonds: “It’s time to set your child on the path to becoming smarter than you!”. That’s classic! Number Bonds is a solid educational app that teaches the relationships of the numbers 0-10. It’s recommended for children ages 3-7. The activities in this app [...]

handPaint has been around for awhile but the app recently underwent an update and has some great new features. I sat down to work on this review and when my son saw me playing around with the app he came over to show me how to work everything. According to Mr. O this is a [...]
I have reviewed and played several apps that teach little ones their ABC’s – but I have to say, My A – Z by Night & Day Studios is one of my personal favorites! I am already a little biased, because Night & Day Studios also made my son’s all-time favorite app – Peekaboo Barn [...]
Sam and Ben is a delightful new storybook app about fraternal twins. The app not only features the story Sam and Ben, but coloring pages, games (a maze and matching game), and a doodle pad. The story is about Sam and Ben; they are twins, but this doesn’t mean that they are exactly the same. [...]
Helping get preschoolers ready for life is the goal of the Tinytapps app line. Small abc is designed to help them make the move from capital letters to lower case. Have you ever wondered what would happen if the Tortoise and the Hare had a rematch? You know, if they raced again? Well, this new storybook app – The Tortoise and the Hare: REMATCH! – shows us one scenario of what could happen if they ever did have a rematch! Does “slow & steady” really [...]
Today, I have two great apps in one review post – Kids Trucks: Numbers & Counting and Kids Trucks: Preschool Learning. Do you have any little ones in your house that like trucks? Or how about little ones that like to “drive” things around? Both of these apps teach toddlers with a fun spin – [...]
Tangled is one of my favorite recent Disney movies and I’ve enjoyed the Tangled: Storybook Deluxe app. The app presents the full story from the film as a read along storybook. The illustrations are wonderful and the narration is very well done. The app also provides the option of recording your own narrated version of [...]
Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.
iOS 5 Gets Its First Update Thanks to my husband Zack for getting this post out about the new iOS 5.1 release. I’ve yet to install the update…but I’ll be following his instructions below. Shortly after the iPhone 4S hit the market a bug was discovered that severely impacted battery life on those new devices. [...]
I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
