Check in to Win

I was very excited to hear about the new app Check in to Win. Using your iPhone you check in to the store (currently the stores offered are Walmart or Sam’s Club) and while you shop you then scan certain products and earn points. When you’ve accumulated a certain amount of points you can use them for prizes like gift cards to the stores or iTunes. Since I shop at Walmart at least once or twice (sometimes more often) a week I was very excited to hear about this app.
Check in to Win is free to download. Once you’ve got it on your iDevice you’ll need to set up an account. This is required so you can receive prizes and points can be verified, etc. Now when you are out shopping you check in to the store and it brings up a list of items that you can scan. Each item is worth a different amount of points. Combos are also available and these are worth more points but you’ve got to scan all the items. As I’m looking at the list today I see a combo that includes Suave Mano Madarin Shampoo and Lady Antebellum’s new CD. As you scan the items the points are collected and your total appears at the top of your screen. When you’re ready to cash in visit the reward screen. It is laid out nicely, showing the prizes and the amount of points needed for each one. One of the funnest parts of Check in to Win comes with the Bonus Spin. Using your finger you spin a wheel to earn extra points.
Check in to Win makes mundane grocery shopping fun but you’ve got to remember to use it if you want to earn those points! It might add extra time onto your shopping trip but if you have the chance to win $50 in free groceries I’d say those few minutes are worth it. I have kids that are old enough to scan barcodes and they also get bored easily when they’re shopping. I’ve decided to make them my official Check in to Win helpers.
Price: FREE
Seller: Lunchbox
Disclosure: I was approached by Lunchbox and asked if I would like to review and share Check in to Win with my readers. I agreed because the app sounded interesting and I thought you’d think so too. After I scheduled the review I found out this was in fact a sponsored post and I was to receive compensation. I was planning on reviewing the app regardless and my opinion was not changed by this development.

Neat app. I’m pretty excited to try it out. Great tip having the kids help scan. Might keep my daughter busy next time we go shopping.
