Clara City Review
As Moms and Dads, its not uncommon for us to head out on errands with a list of things to pick up. Sometimes that list can be pretty long and take us all over town. Today, Clara and her sisters have a full schedule of errands ahead of them, in Clara City. Dad has a list of things he wants them to collect throughout the city and they are going to need your help to find everything.
You can choose to partner with Clara or one of her sisters for game play. As you move through the city they have included lots of fun activities as well as lessons. For example, its very important to know how to cross the street safely. You have to stop, press the signal button, wait for the cars to stop and the light to turn green before you can cross. There is also a cute lesson about washing your hands. A fun activity in the park is building a sand castle.
It’s listed that the game is appropriate for ages 2 to 6, but I think its better suited for 4+. Locating the requested items isn’t difficult, but finding the activities on each page isn’t obvious and there are no instructions. To reach the target audience it would be a nice addition to have Clara or Dad give a voice prompt. Steps in the science experiment could be: 1) add salt to the water, 2) stir to dissolve, 3) place an egg in each glass. Older children will enjoy figuring things out for themselves, but younger ones might get frustrated. It might also be helpful if there were difficulty levels associated with who you choose as a partner.
Clara in the City is a nice opportunity for children to be responsible and feel accomplished as they help their family and get the job done.
