Dude That’s Cool is a fun multiplayer, strategy game. The premise is quirky and unique – play as a hamster who is out to steal goodies from his hamster friends. To get to the other cages you place pipe, strategically connecting the pieces to reach the goodies and protect the one’s you’ve already got. The goal is to be the first hamster to place a tunnel from one side of the screen to the other. Each turn you place a piece down, rotating it if needed, while avoiding the obstacles on the screen. There are special items like a bomb, hammer and metal pipes that can be used to improve your strategy and throw off your opponent. The game supports the multiplayer format in several ways. You can find an opponent by searching for their username or email or you can play against a randomly chosen opponent. The next option is to play locally with the “Pass & Play” mode.
The graphics in Dude That’s Cool are bright and fun. The hamsters show plenty of personality and there are several characters to choose from as your character in the game. The game connects to Facebook and Game Center for those who like to track their statistics and view leader boards. The developers have a list of fun updates planned and it looks like they’ve been busy working to make the game even more social and interactive. The list includes the following:
- ‘Goodies Shop’: Trade in those hard won goodies and build up a bigger arsenal!
- Chat: Swap stories, make friends, or trash talk with your rivals within the game.
- New characters: More hamsters are joining in the fray… stay tuned!
- New locations: Traverse new locations in your quest for more goodies!
- Goodies: New ‘Goodies’ to steal from your rivals!… along with some rare items!
- iPad version for a more enhanced experience!
- Theme based downloadable content with rare unique characters and locations!
Dude That’s Cool is one of the freshest games I’ve seen in awhile and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next update brings. My kids and I play word games back and forth against each other and it’s nice to have something new and different to add to our multiplayer arsenal. May the best hamster win!
