-Nag Reminders gives me the ability to take the reminding part of my mother/wife job to a whole new level. It allows you to send reminders out via text message. The app comes with “Quick e-Nags” that are already typed up and can be chosen with a tap. There are things like “Call me if you need a ride home”, “Don’t forget your mother’s birthday” and “I love you”. You can also add in your own Quick e-Nags and save them for later use. Once you’ve chosen a nag, or typed in your own message, you can schedule when the text message will be sent. Messages can be sent to individuals or groups and can be scheduled to repeat if you like.
There are several things that I really like about e-Nag reminders. The first is the Quick e-Nag library. I never sent text messages before I got my iPhone but it’s so easy to do now I send them frequently. I like the fact that e-Nag gives me text messages that have already been typed in, a nice time saver. I also like having the ability to schedule texts. Sometimes I remember things I need to tell people but at the wrong time, like when I’m lying in bed trying to sleep. Now I can type it up and schedule a text that would be sent at a decent hour when normal people are awake. Lastly, I like being able to send text messages to groups of people. I think this app is a fantastic tool for parents on the go because the need to remind (okay, nag) never really waits does it?

iPhone Mom,
My wife is looking for an application that would remind her of birthdays in advance. I have been researching different event and birthday apps, and they all seem to be lacking in the notification department. My wife wants to be able to set a different reminder for each birthday…e.g. for her nephew on the other side of the country she might want a reminder three weeks in advance. For her co-worker, however, she might only want to be notified the morning of.
Have you come across anything that would work for this tailored to a mother? The best solution I can come-up with is very business oriented and doesn’t link well with the birthday field in contacts…
Sorry…I didn’t know the best place to post my question.
I love your blog…although the eNag and Hunny Do applications do scare me a bit…I will not be telling wifey about those.

I haven’t found an event reminder that I’m completely in love with. They all have individual features that I like but nothing that has the whole package. I’ve tried Giftster and Bdays but to be honest I haven’t used them in so long I can’t remember which one I preferred. I do have an event shopping app that I love – Better Gift List – but it doesn’t appear to do reminders. Sorry for not being much help…..

Hi guys,
This app, e-Nag Reminders provides that flexibility. I set text reminders to myself to send b-day cards for my parents 2 weeks before their b-day, so I can put them in the mail ahead of time. They are set for yearly repeat texts so I don’t have to remember after the first time I set it up! Also, I set an e-Nag text reminder for the day of their birthday so that I can call them that day. It is on a yearly repeat as well. e-Nag is perfect for this! Best of all you can tailor the text reminder to say whatever you like. “Call mom for b-day…Send birthday card to mom…Order cake for Sara’s b-day, etc.” Hope this helps!

I prefer using Reminders! it does a way better job at it, i think their url is ripeapps.com
