Easter Village

Easter Village has a unique look to it because it’s animated plasticine, paper and wood. It reminds my son of Wallace & Grommit, who we find hilarious. You begin by trying to catch jumping bunnies as they move across your screen. Each time you’re able to tap on a bunny you earn a carrot. When you’re tired of that you can tap on the small house at the top of the screen and visit the bunny. Here you can make an Easter card to send to someone via Facebook, email or Twitter. You’re given a basic card (it’s pretty cute) and you can draw on it or add on extra’s that you’ve purchased. To buy these extra things you’ve got to spend the carrots that you earned by tapping bunnies. It takes a lot of carrots, 250, to make a purchase. That is a lot of tapping.

Let me first tell you that my son enjoyed this app. I don’t think he even tried to make an Easter card, he spent the whole time catching bunnies and he was perfectly happy. Now for my opinion. I love the look of this app but there’s just not enough to it for me. My biggest issue is that I wish it was easier to create a card without having to do so much tapping to earn so many carrots. Unless you make purchases your decorations are pretty limited. It would also be nice to see additional basic card choices. Cute animations though.

Individual Text Tones for Contacts

My 9 year old daughter told me about an iOS 5 feature that I was totally unaware of until last week. Miss S. showed me how to set up individual text tones for my contacts.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
