Feast: Thanksgiving

Anyone out there starting to mentally prepare for the fun that is cooking Thanksgiving dinner? I should be gearing up, but I think I’m in denial. Unless you’ve done the cooking I don’t think you can appreciate the art that goes into timing a meal like that. The art and the stress and the getting up at 5:00 on a holiday to become WAY too friendly with a naked bird. I’m glad that turkey takes so long to roast because I need hours to erase the memory of stuffing it before I’m ready to think about eating it.
Anyway, I was given a heads up about an app called iFeast: Thanksgiving. I have not tried this one myself but it’s designed to help you keep track of everything that goes into Thanksgiving dinner. It comes programmed to help you time out every aspect of pulling things together, from cooking the turkey to setting the table to easing the cranberry sauce from it’s can. It’s got four pre-programmed menus: Novice, Pressed for Time, Early Bird or Night Owl, and you can also create your own menu. I wonder if they thought about including a menu called I Don’t Want To Cook – Can’t We Just Order Pizza?
From what I see in the app store iFeast looks like a pretty thorough app and guess what…it was developed by a mom. We moms rock.
