Hi @cathy and @theiphonemom,

just thought I'd chime in here. The latest release of the foodessentials scanner (2.0) provides the ability for you to select MSG and add it to the My Ingredients section on the label.

To set this up you go to the "my label" and then "more" option, search for MSG and then then click "on". It includes 45 different names for MSG as well at this stage.

Hope that helps.

Cathi - That's a fantastic idea. I do updates when I get word from the developers about big new features or price reductions. I ought to post every so often about the apps that I'm still using. I just tucked that idea away - thank you!
I can tell you if MSG does show up in this next update I'll be using it quite a bit to try and cut down on my migraines too.

I think this would be cool for people who have severe MSG allergies (triggers migraines for me). There's MSG in ALL kinds of crazy things (like some Campbell's soups!). I'm not sure if it's worth an annual fee. Do you ever do follow-up posts, like say 3-6 months down the line, and let people know how much you really used an app? I think that would be very handy.
As always, love the site and keep 'em coming! :-)
