Tot Transport - How can you not like an app that comes from a company called Whippersnapper Workshop? That’s a terrific company name! Tot Transport is a collection of transportation themed flashcards. There are 32 cards, each featuring a different vehicle. Cards teach the name of the vehicle, spelling, pronunciation and the sound that the vehicle makes. Flashcards are also animated to show vehicle movement. This is a universal app. Price: $.99 ~ See Tot Transport in the App Store.

ParisAppTours: Beware Mme la Guillatine, A Revolutionary Tour of Paris - ParisAppTours is part tour guide, part murder mystery, part time traveling history lesson. It presents a murder mystery and then leads you through popular Paris tourist destinations as part of the story. The app includes maps, map challenges, treasure hunts, historical explanations, travel tips and more. The app was created for teens and older. You can read more about the Time Traveler Tours at this link. Price: $7.99 ~ See ParisAppTours in the App Store

ABC Zoo - Take a trip to the zoo and learn your letters with ABC Zoo. This flashcard app has a different animal for each letter of the alphabet. I like the bright and colorful look of the graphics and the large type used for the letters. A sound effect is included for each animal. ABC Zoo comes from the developer of SoundBook. This is a universal app. Price: $1.99 ~ See ABC Zoo in the App Store.

SayMommy - SayMommy is a pregnancy tracker app with plenty of features. A Due Date Calculator will help you figure out when you can anticipate your baby’s arrival. Weekly updates give you information about your baby’s development (and your pregnancy symptoms) throughout your pregnancy. The Pregnancy Tracker lets you track your measurements and upload a weekly photograph. The Pregnancy Calendar is another place for you to track measurements. You can also set up appointments and record your thoughts here. When it’s time to have your baby you can use the app’s contraction timer and birth announcement features. Saymommy.com is the website that inspired the app. Price: $.99 ~ See SayMommy in the App Store

*Disclosure: I have NOT personally tried any of the above apps.

Chalk Walk

Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
