Grade Sim

January 4, 2012

I don’t often receive review requests for apps that are appropriate for high school and college students but today I have one: Grade Sim. The purpose of Grade Sim is to simulate how different test and homework scores will affect your GPA. Students enter in their various classes, assignments, tests and scores. Grade Sim then uses this information to calculate the students GPA, both for the individual class and overall. This in itself is excellent information to have on hand but the beauty of the app comes when student’s use the simulator. This allows them to adjust their individual scores up and down to see how it affects their GPA, for good and bad. This means you could enter in the score you hoped to get on an upcoming test and then adjust it to see how doing better (or worse) would affect your grade. I would have loved having a tool like this in high school. I could have used it to determine when I really needed to put on the study hat and when it would have been okay to relax a little bit.

Chalk Walk

Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
