Growth is a straightforward app that will track your child’s changing measurements as they grow through adolescence. It allows you to enter and store information for height, weight and head circumference. Using those numbers the app can also calculate and track your child’s BMI. Growth will then take those measurements and plot them on a growth chart. The nice thing about this app is that the growth charts don’t end when your child reaches a certain age. Growth has charts from the World Health Organization going all the way up to 19 years old. When you first add your child’s profile information you’l be entering in their birthdate and gender. Growth will take that information and use it to find the appropriate growth chart.
After you’ve entered in several sets of measurements the plots on the growth chart will be connected and you’ll see a line illustrating your child’s progress. I was all too familiar with baby growth charts when my youngest was having her feeding difficulties but I really don’t know where my older children fall. I have a general idea based on how they look when lined up next to their classmates but it was fun to use the charts in Growth to see where they’re really at right now.
