Halloween Apps

The Halloween apps are starting to hit my inbox! Unfortunately I don’t have time to try out and review them all and still get them on the site before the 31st. So in order to let you know what’s new this year I’m posting descriptions from the developers, with some minor editing or commentary in a few cases. You may also have noticed Halloween apps popping up in posts with giveaways. I’m going to do my best to compile a comprehensive list over the weekend so everything is in one spot. Henry’s Spooky Headlamp - Henry’s Spooky Headlamp is a free seek and find game for preschoolers. In the game children help Henry use his magic headlamp by moving the spotlight on the screen to uncover all of the spooky objects that are hiding in the darkness. The game features a fun “spooky” soundtrack, kid-friendly characters and artwork, and easy to learn game play. This app is designed for both iPhone and iPad. Boo! HD - Boo! HD is a new Halloween picturebook app from PicPocket Books. It is a playful rhyming story that is not too scary for little ones. Children will meet owls, ghosts and pumpkins, just the thing to put everyone in a Halloween mood! The HD version is for the iPad, and a regular version is also available for iPhone/ iPad Touch. Violet & the Candy Thief - Violet is back in a spooky Halloween story geared for children ages 4-8. The story includes animations and interactions on every page of the book. In this story it’s a dark and stormy Halloween night and Violet has a new mystery. As Phantom Girl she sets off in search of a candy thief but she soon begins to wonder exactly what is taking the candy. This app is designed for both iPhone and iPad. Halloween Coloring Book – Halloween Coloring Book is a fun holiday coloring activity for kids. This app will keep your children busy using a variety of bright colors and show off their creativity. Lucha Libre USA: Make your own masked warrior - This might not be a Halloween themed app but it definitely fits with the costumes and masks.
