Hotel Dash

November 22, 2010

My eleven year old daughter is a big fan of the “Dash” games from PlayFirst. I thought she’d be the perfect person in our family to review their newest app, Hotel Dash. What follows are her thoughts:

Hotel Dash is really fun. You get to be Flo from Diner Dash. There are three different hotels and each one has ten levels. Every hotel has different types of people staying there. Some of the customers include boys with cell phones, clowns (watch out for these), business women, couples, sleep walkers, ghosts and “glampires”. When they first arrive at the hotel you use your finger to direct them to a room that matches the color they are wearing. After they go up to their room they’ll ask for their luggage and you need to tap on the screen and deliver that. Next comes room service deliveries. They might also ask for extra things like towels or pillows. When it’s time to check out they’ll open their door and a money sign will appear above their head. Make sure to bring their dirty laundry down to the washing machine.

As you work through the game you’ll earn things to help you like gift baskets and ice machines. You can use the money you earn in the game to buy upgrades. Upgrades can be larger carts for Flo, increased speed and hotel decorations. One of the most important things to do is buy stars for your rooms. The stars turn into “star bills” when people stay in the room and you use them to buy items for a special suite. The game gives you a deadline for when your suite needs to be finished so make sure you work on it. I suggest that you make sure every room gets three stars if possible.

The game was so fun I became addicted to the it and when I was home sick my mom let me play until I finished all the levels. I think it’s totally worth the money. If you like games like Wedding Dash & Diner Dash this is totally up your alley.

Price when Reviewed: $.99

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
