i Learn with Poko: Additions!

July 20, 2011

Poko is back in a brand new “iLearn with” app. This time Poko is learning about addition, working with his friends Bibi and Minus. The app has been created for children ages 3-7 and works with basic counting and addition skills. The game is divided into three different levels.

  • Level One – Bowling - Poko and Minus are bowling and each has three pins. Players must gather up the knocked pins and count them up. The numbers in this level will go up to six.
  • Level Two – Building Blocks - In this activity Poko, Bibi and Minus are playing with blocks. Players need to gather up their blocks and add them together. This activity works with numbers up to ten.
  • Level Three – Poko’s Toy Box - Now it’s time to clean up and Poko is looking through his room for specific toys. Players should tap the objects Poko is looking for and then add them together. The numbers here will add up to fifteen.

The i Learn with apps have “self adjusting levels of difficulty”. Meaning the levels will adapt as your children play, depending on how they’re answering. The apps do not require reading which makes them ideal for preschoolers and kindergarteners. Additions! has the same adorable graphics, engaging animations and smooth game play as the previous Tribal Novas apps. I’ve been impressed with all of their titles so far and they continue to do a fantastic job working National Standards into appealing educational apps.

Price when Reviewed: $2.99 for HD iPad and $1.99 for iPhone/iPod Touch

WebMD Baby was released earlier this month and it is awesome! Seriously one of the best “baby” apps I’ve seen to date

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
