iCurfew

I still have a few yeasr before I need to worry about my kids keeping to their curfews but I’m sure the day will come sooner than I’d like. I’m always interested in learning about apps that can help parents keep better tabs on their children are at so I wanted to try out iCurfew. iCurfew allows your child to send you a quick email with their location. The app is very easy to use and it won’t take them but a moment to send out the note. In the app’s settings you set up the email where you’d like to receive iCurfew notifications. The location can be sent to a total of three different email addresses. You can customize the subject and message of the email or use the iCurfew defaults. Now when your child is out and wants to let you know where they are all they need to do is open the app and tap on a button that says “Check In” and then “Send My Location.” The app sends out an email with a link to a Google map showing your child’s current location. There is no way for your child to edit the link so you can be sure you’re seeing where they are actually at.

I love the idea of this app because it allows children to check in with their parents without going through a huge process. If we were using iCurfew we’d have a set time when my children needed to send me an email. The app would also be helpful if I needed to pick them up and wanted to know exactly where they were at but didn’t want to decipher teenage directions!

Chalk Walk

Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
