iKids Play – Maybe We Are Flamingos

Maybe We Are Flamingos is one of a several titles from iKids Play. The iKids Play apps are storybook apps that are much more than a simple story to listen to.  When you start the app up you’ll see a main screen that gives your child five choices. (As you’re using the app it’s always easy to get back to the main screen, just look for the home button and tap it.)

*Story – Tap this and the story will be read aloud. The story can be paused by tapping the screen.

*Read – Your child can read the story and record their own voice and then play it back.

*Paint – Here your child uses their finger to “fingerpaint” on a blank screen.

*Rub – Your child rubs their finger back and forth across the iPhone screen.  As they do this an image from the story will appear.

*Color - your child can color in a blank picture from the story.

It’s nice to see a storybook app that lets the kids do more than just listen to a story over and over. My kids favorite parts of this app are the read option (they could record and listen to themselves talk all day long) and the coloring screen.
