Illness Tracker is a perfect app for a mom’s iPhone. It lets you keep track of who’s been sick, how long they’ve been feeling icky, when you’ve taken them to the doctor and why, along with other illness information.
The first thing you’ll want to do is touch the "People" button at the bottom of the screen. Now tap the plus sign and enter in a name, birthday, doctor’s name and phone number. You can also add any notes about this person. Here’s a great place to list allergies or a brief medical history. Touch the "save" button in the top left corner when you’re done. Repeat this for all the members of your family.
Touch "Calendar" at the bottom of the screen and you’ll see a very clean looking calendar. The yellow arrows at the top let you move forward and backwards, by month. At the bottom you’ll see "Illness Calendar for….". If you touch the blue arrows next to this you can switch between family members. Each one will have a different calendar. Touch a date and the app lets you enter in notes. On this screen you can also mark if the person was sick, took medicine, had a fever or went to the doctor. You’ll see a pain scale at the bottom. You can touch a number to show how much pain the person was in that particular day. Tap "save" when you’re finished. Depending on what you entered there might be some symbols on your calendar. If you touch "Legend" at the bottom of the screen you’ll get an explanation of what all the calendar’s symbols and colors mean.
The "Export" button lets you email out the Illness Tracker information. "Settings" lets you set up a password to protect what’s in the app.
This is a great app to have on your phone. Any mom with more than one child knows how tricky it is to keep track of everyone’s sniffles and aches and pains. If you put it all in Illness Tracker then you can tell your doctor exactly how long the sore throat has lasted and that no, you are not crazy for demanding the antibiotics.
