iMommy Erin December 12, 2011 Toddlers iMommy is the perfect app for anyone who has a little one at home that loves to play with and take care of baby dolls. This K & N Ventures app is a virtual baby for children to interact with. When the app iMommy opens, your child will get to choose from a selection of babies. They then have the option of customizing there choice by changing their baby’s hair, eye, and clothing color as well as the design on the baby’s outfit. Once they have gotten their baby looking just right it is time to play. Various photos/activity scenes rotate across the screen; to play your little one will need to tap on the image they like. Right now there are six areas where your child can play with their baby. They can choose a living room scene where they can turn music on for their baby and give them various toys (blocks, books, a teddy bear, etc.) to play with or they can take their baby outside for some fresh air and a snack. Bath time is another area of play; here your little one can adjust the baby’s bath water, give them toys, and make sure they are clean with soap and shampoo. Another scenes lets young ones have the responsibility of changing their baby’s diaper. They will also get to be responsible for feeding their baby; they can give them a drink from the fridge of choose a jar of food from the cupboard and feed the baby with a spoon. Lastly, little ones have the chance to get their baby’s ready for bed and put them to sleep in their cribs. iMommy gives young children the chance to love and be responsible for a baby that will interact with them and react to their actions. The look and feel of iMommy reminds me a lot of dollhouse apps (which we love in our house); I think the style and colors are perfect- soft but not muted or dull. My toddler is a big fan of the “pretend play” type of apps and she loves iMommy. She is always taking care of her dolls around the house and this app lets her do things I won’t let her do to her fabric dolls (i.e. give them a bath and smear baby food all over their faces). I enjoy the variety of in-depth activities she can engage in with her virtual baby. iMommy gets played with everyday in our house and most nights my little girl has to tuck her iMommy baby into bed before she goes herself. This app is a must for any little mommies out there. Price When Reviewed: $1.99 See the app in iTunes Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.0 or later.
