Exciting News & a $25 Giveaway

Written by The iPhone Mom

The folks at Kijiji recently asked a group of mom bloggers to submit their favorite apps for a “Top Ten Family-Friendly iPhone Apps” list. Guess who was in that group? Yep, the iPhone Mom herself! Click HERE to see the entire top ten list.

Now here’s the great news for my readers. To go along with the Top Ten list Kijiji is giving me a $25 iTunes card to use in a giveaway.  Yes, you read that correctly – a $25 iTunes card is going to one of you. Think of how many $.99 apps you could get with that! Or is there a pricey app you’ve had your eye on for awhile? This could be your chance.

Here’s how it’s going to work. Submit a comment telling us your favorite family app for one entry into the contest. For a second entry visit www.kijiji.com and check out their classifieds. Then come back and leave another comment telling me you did it. The contest will close next Monday, August 3rd, at 10:00 pm MST and a winning comment will be chosen.

Thank you to Kijiji for the generous giveaway. Be sure to read my review of their new iPhone app. Here’s a preview – I liked it. Happy Commenting and Good Luck!

We have 5 kids so my husband and I and the 2 older kids rely on Evernote to keep our schedules synced, and its a blessing–we love it! Spazzle: Midnight Mask is also great to help occupy my younger ones in those we’re-stuck-in-this-waiting-room-foreva-situations. Another app that we like alot is Tappy Tunes, my kids are like instant DJ’s, and secretly–so am I! Thanks for the review, I am intrigued and wanting to try the The Kijiji iPhone app now!

I went to the http://www.kijiji.com website and spent some time searching for local classifieds in my area, Virginia Beach. I was surprised to find a set of new Harry Potter Audio Books, something that I have been searching for quite some time for my daughter! Thanks–beyond excited!

I like the app ManGo. It’s a fast way to locate and map a business when traveling without the typing.

Visited Kijiji’s website. A nice alternative to Craig’s list.

We’ve only had our iPhones for a few days, and have been totally addicted since day 1! :)

I’m loving the Pocket Informant app. Still on the free version for now, but it’s working great! It’s fabulous for helping me track the activities for our family.

And now I’ve been over to the Kijiji website. Made the mistake of looking at the classifieds of the kittens…so cute!

My favorite family app is probably shape builder. It keeps my 3 year occupied for quite awhile when we are stuck in traffic or in waiting room.

I just check out kijiji and I liked that a picture came up for every listing. Easy to scroll through quickly without having to read every description.

I love the very simple app called “myLite”. A free flashlight. Sounds simple but I don’t know how many times I have turned it on in the middle of the night to help a kid back to bed or when I cant sleep it is a great SOFT reading light!

I love the layout of Kijiji. I love that the pictures show without actually clicking on the item! Kijiji is much easier than craigs list to scan quickly. And I do love craigs list! Good Job Kijiji. Just need more items for Idaho!

As a busy mom of two I love having my iPhone at my fingertips for that moment when I just need two kids to sit a wait while I speak to the doctor, secretary, grocery clerk, etc. They love tons of apps on my phone but the ones that always get played are Five Little Monkeys, Scoops Ice Cream Fun, and Artsee activities. Monkeys is great because it’s the song everyone knows and loves but it’s interactive with different choices for the style of song and some of the money for the app goes to autism research. Scoops (you catch falling ice cream balls on a cone) is great because it uses the tilt motion of the phone for the game so it’s easy for toddlers to play. Artsee is GREAT because it’s aimed at working creative thinking through abstract pictures with paint blots. Really creative and easy for all ages to use. Hopefully these apps will help some of those busy moms out there…now, off to check out kijiji!

Well…I can see why kijiji is going to catch on! New and already it has TONS of things listed for people to buy, rent, sell, etc. I got completely caught up in looking at the homes for sale since we are thinking of buying one soon. This will certainly be one of those places I look to get an idea of what things are selling for when we get serious! Thanks for giving us the heads up on this new community site!

I love the Oregon Trail Game App. It keeps not only our kids, but also us adults occupied and happy for hours. Plus it has educational tidbits snuck in along the way.

I’m not a parent, so I can’t say which app entertains my family, but my favorite app is DoGood. Not that those are the only good deeds that I do, but they give me new ideas.

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t heard of Kijiji yet, thanks! I already see something I like.
