About two months ago I reviewed the Kitchen Calculator app. I love this app and often use it when I’m cooking and trying to convert amounts in recipes. But now the developer has created Kitchen Calculator PRO and can I just say this app has only gotten better.

The basis behind the app is the same. (Click here for my original review of Kitchen Calculator) Kitchen Calculator PRO gives you the ability to convert different measurements. You can still easily figure out how many teaspoons are in three cups of sugar. Or how many jiggers are in a tablespoon. But now you can also convert from weight to volume. This means that you can use the app to tell you how many cups are in a pound, etc. You couldn’t do that with the original Kitchen Calculator app. The folks at Kitchen Calculator PRO have done a ton of research in putting this together. They’ve created a list of ingredients that you can choose from when you’re converting weight to volume. You also have the ability to edit the ingredients so you get an answer that’s accurate to the exact ingredient you’re using.

This app lets you do conversions for teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, pints, gallons, liters, centiliters, milliliters, ounces, quarts, drops, jiggers, gills, dashes, pinches, pounds, grams, kilograms, feet, inches, yards, meters, centimeters, miles, kilometers, Fahrenheit and Celsius. Whew!

The help feature on Kitchen Calculator PRO is fantastic. It walks you through using the app and details what you need to do to make your conversions work. I also like the new color scheme and look and feel of the app. If you’re like me and struggle with kitchen conversions then I think you’ll find this one worth the sticker price.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
