lo-mob is another app that will give your iPhone photo’s a “retro” feel. lo-mob doesn’t automatically adjust your photos like Hipstamatic. Instead, it lets you choose from different “filters” and you can preview what your photo is going to look like. You’re able to take pictures from within the app and then apply filters or you can use images already on your camera roll. Once you have an image the app will generate a preview list. This gives you a glimpse of what the image will look like once you’ve applied the different filters. Select the preview that you like and lo-mob will pull up the adjusted photo on your screen. If you don’t like your result you can easily change filters from this screen. When you’ve arrived at the perfect result you can save the image. I really like the fact that your original image won’t be altered, you’ll still be able to find it on your camera roll. If you’d like to share your image you can use email or post it to Facebook, Twitter, Picassa or Flickr.
I really like the lo-mob app because of it’s ability to alter pictures that I’ve already taken. I could probably get similar looks by playing around in Photoshop but I don’t have the patience to do that. I’m all for anything that can make my photos more interesting through just a few taps on my iPhone. lo-mob does that and it does it well.
