We really could have used Mark On Call about a month ago when my daughter decided to rearrange her room. I told her she ought to measure things out and make sure it would all fit before she began moving things. I gave a few suggestions but she didn’t care too much for my ideas. So she convinced her little sister to help and together they moved a surprising amount of furniture and junk. This was impressive except for the fact that when she was all done, nothing fit where she wanted it to. So there was even more moving of furniture and things ended up where I’d suggested they go in the first place. It would have been nice to be able to sit down with her and help her visualize the room before she went to all the trouble of moving and then re-moving things.
This tangent really does relate to Mark On Call. I was sent the app to review and it’s like having an interior designer in your purse. It allows you to arrange and rearrange elements in a room. You can adjust the measurements for your room, and the items in it, making sure everything will fit. Mark On Call lets you try out colors on your furniture, walls, flooring, etc. You can even use your iPhone to take pictures of fabrics or other things that you like and then use them in your design. There are places to record prices and the stores where you found things. This information can be stored on a shopping list for future reference. The app comes with lots of built in help and tips for getting the most out of your room design. Once you have a room just the way you want it you can email the picture, save it to a photo album or publish it. If you publish it then you’ll be able to share it with others and you can even download other published room designs.
If there are any of you out there who’ve got a knack for interior design and want something that can help you track and work things out then check out Mark On Call. I have no illusions about my abilities as an interior designer. My house is very “functional”. Maybe when my kids are grown and we’re no longer decorating with baby toys and Star Wars action figures I’ll feel more inclined to coordinate and invest in professional help. For now this will be a fun app to use before we go on furniture rearranging sprees.
Price when Reviewed: $.99 -sale price $2.99 – regular price
