The iPhone Mom

I’ve mentioned before that I have trouble in the math department. Unfortunately this genetic trait has been passed on to one of my girls. Math doesn’t come easily for either of us. Luckily for me I’m at a point in life where math can be done on calculator. My poor girl’s still in school and has to do Math in her brain. It goes without saying that she is frequently frustrated.

This week I came across Math Cards, a fantastic math app that we are going to put to good use. Usually my kids only use my iPhone for entertainment/babysitting, but I do enjoy finding apps that will actually benefit their brains. Math Cards is flash cards for your iPhone. You can choose from addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. The app gives you a math problem and four possible answers. As you go through the problems you’ll see the percentage that you’re correctly answering. If  you choose the wrong answer the correct one will briefly show up on the screen.

This app is extremely simple and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Hopefully it’ll help my house out with our own math struggles.
