Math Fun 1st Grade and 2nd Grade Review: 100′s of equations to make the grade!

Math Fun 1^st Grade: Addition & Subtraction HD and Math Fun 2^nd Grade: Multiplication & Division HD are two great math apps to help reinforce your child’s school learning.  These are among the most comprehensive educational apps I have seen.

Both apps have 10 activities with over 200 equations to focus on different aspects of addition & subtraction and multiplication & division.  With exercises in number families, vertical equations, place values and so much more, children will become comfortable in important aspects of elementary school math.

I had a first grader and third grader try out these apps.  Math Fun 1^st Grade was perfect for my first grader.  The skills in the beginning activities matched her grade level and they moved up in complexity to be able to grow with her throughout the year.  The only challenging aspect of the first grade app, from a parent’s point of view, is that she could not read the instructions independently yet!  If you have a first grader who cannot yet read well on their own, be prepared to read the instructions out loud.

Math Fun 2^nd Grade focuses on multiplication and division.  My third grader was able to follow along with the instructions; however, the in-depth multiplication and division was a bit beyond what she had learned in school!  I have been working with her on multiplication independently for a while, so she was able to grasp many of the equations and quickly picked up how to do vertical equations once shown, but I would say that Math Fun 2^nd Grade is really more appropriate for a third grader than on a second grade level.

Given the huge amount of activities and equations these apps provide, I would recommend them to anyone who wants to reinforce math skills utilizing apps with bright and fun graphics.
