Monster Scanner is a very cool app. My kids have been using it to scan the house for monsters. The best is when my son scans his sisters. It drives them crazy and when I ask him to stop he just gives me this look like, do you blame me for checking?? Monster Scanner has three different functions, Monster Scanner, Scare Off Monsters, and Anti-Monster Spray.
Monster Scanner - When you tap this button your iPhone turns into a bonafide Monster Scanner. At least that’s what you can tell your kids. In actuality the app opens up your iPhone camera. On your screen you see whatever is behind your lens but on top of the image you’ll see a scanner. When you tap the screen the scan begins, green lines appear, moving back and forth. It will look like you are actually scanning the room for monsters. When your scan is complete you tap the screen again and the app declares “Room Safe!”
Scare Off Monsters - This button brings up an image of an audio device with a big red button labeled “Press to scare”. If you tap and hold down the red button the app makes a noise meant to scare off any monsters in the room. I anticipated that the noise would be loud and obnoxious but it’s not.
Anti-Monster Spray - On this screen you’ll see a container of monster spray and a big red button that says “Press to spray”. When you tap and hold this button the green spray appears to be coming from the container. The container will drain and then fill up again. You can spray as much Anti-Monster Spray as you need.
We love the look of Monster Scanner and I think the concept is fantastic. It’s a perfect app for anyone (big or small) who might be having an attack of monster anxiety.
