Montessori Memory

December 28, 2011

Montessori Memory is a matching game by Bonto.ch. This educational game, designed for children ages 3 to 5, features both classic memory and learning memory where a voice announces the name of the objects when a match has been made. Once a child has selected which version of memory they wish to play, they will then need to select a category of objects. The four categories are: Animals, Clothes, Fruits, and Transports. After a category has been selected the game will begin. Each game features 12 cards and the game keeps track of the amount of turns taken and errors made. One of the features of Montessori Memory that I really like is that you can change the language of the card announcer in the learning memory game. With this feature young children are introduced to and can learn foreign languages. Montessori Memory is a solid addition to the genre of matching apps.

With a chalkboard background and soothing colors and patterns, I found the look of Montessori Memory very enjoyable. The images of the objects are done in a cartoon style, which I found very appropriate for the age group the game is designed for. There is an options page that allows you to turn the music and voice options on and off, but this can also be changed during game play through the use of icons at the top of the screen. The look and ease of use of Montessori Memory makes it one of my favorite memory apps.

Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
