My Baby’s Beat

April 18, 2011

Attention expectant mothers! Today I have an app that will let you use your iPhone to hear your baby’s heartbeat. It works when you are in your 3rd trimester and uses the built in microphone to catch the heartbeat. The beat can then be recorded and shared with others through email. The My Baby’s Beat website offers some tips for using the app. First, you’ll need to make sure your iPhone is out of a case. Also, make sure it’s switched to “Airplane” mode to cut off all transmissions. It helps to turn the iPhone’s volume up to the maximum amount and a tutorial video is also included in the app’s help screen. The video can help guide you in putting the iPhone on your tummy in the correct spot.

There’s no bun in this oven so I’m unable to perform a full test of My Baby’s Beat. I must say it’s a wonderful concept and something I wish I’d had when I was expecting my children. How great would it be to have a recording of each of their heartbeats in the womb!

**My Baby’s Beat doesn’t support iPods or iPads. Only iPhones running iOS 4.0 or later.

Price when Reviewed: $3.99

Thank you for mentioning “airplane mode” as this is something people don’t think about very often.

What do you think???

Chalk Walk

Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
