My Black Dog Books

December 5, 2010

This week I want to introduce you to Allison & Jeff Keeme from My Black Dog Books. Jeff & Allison are the force behind the Violet Apps. I’ve reviewed two of Violet’s adventures in the past and I just got to try out her Christmas outing this weekend. (Watch for the review tomorrow.) Jeff & Allison have a great background story. They were recently married and combined their talents to create storybook apps about a clever little girl named Violet. Allison is the author and illustrator of the stories and Jeff makes them work as apps.

I think my favorite part of their interview is when Allison talks about always wanting to be a children’s author and how she’s made that happen. One of the things I love about doing this website is that I get to hear from all sorts of people who’ve taken a leap and gone for their dreams. Regular people doing brave and extraordinary things.

Instead of sending written answers to my interview questions the Keemes sent me a video response. I hope you enjoy watching it and learning more about the couple behind My Black Dog Books. I found them to be adorable and an inspiration.

Chalk Walk

Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
