Nursing Log

Any other tired new moms out there? I’m living proof that sleep deprivation is a serious form of torture. Are you having trouble keeping your days straight let alone all the details that go into caring for a new baby?  Check this app out. Nursing Log was created by a nursing mom to keep track of how often you feed your baby and for how long. It’s simple and straightforward. Add a nursing and enter in it’s length in minutes. (You use a sliding thingamabob to do this. I can’t think of what it’s called, thank you sleep deprivation, but it’s quick and easy to use.) You can view the nursings for “today”, the last twenty-four hours or all nursings. There aren’t a ton of extra details cluttering up the information. You see the date, the length of time and the side used each time. To me that seems like all the information you’d need. Nothing says you have to record the time either. You could simply use the log to help you remember which side you started/ended on. As an added bonus you can customize the background of the app.

If all you’re looking for is a way to help you track how often your baby is eating this is a good app. I like how quickly you can enter in the information and how uncluttered Nursing Log feels.

Individual Text Tones for Contacts

My 9 year old daughter told me about an iOS 5 feature that I was totally unaware of until last week. Miss S. showed me how to set up individual text tones for my contacts.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
