Today I’m reviewing something a bit different. It’s not an app or an iPhone related product. Nope. Today I’m reviewing a website. The site is outfitYOURS.com and they offer Apple accessories. I had never heard of the site before but they contacted me and asked if I’d like to give their service a try. They felt that their selection and service might be something iPhone Mom readers might want to know about. In order to give me a normal online shopping experience they wanted me to act as a sort of mystery shopper. I would go through the ordering process like a regular customer and no one putting together my order would know I was a reviewer. No special treatment here!

First let’s talk about what I found on the website. Overall I thought it was well designed and easy to navigate. They have separate sections for iPad, iPhone, Mac and iPod accessories. There are also sections for bags, audio and cables/chargers. You can also view products by brand if you prefer. Some of the brands that outfitYOURS carries include Skullcandy, Incase, Speck, Otterbox and Griffin. They also carry the iKlear products which I absolutely love and highly recommend. Anyone with a toddler and an iPhone or iPad needs iKlear in their house.

When you view an individual product the description you get will be thorough. A picture is front and center at the top of the page so you’ll see what you’d be getting. I have a pet peeve with retail sites that don’t show you the product they’re selling so this was great to see. If customer reviews are available then they will appear after the product description. You’ll also be able to see related products and products that were viewed by others. It’s a setup similar to Amazon.com. A sidebar shows a list of related products and recently viewed items. I spent quite a bit of time going over the website trying to figure out what to order and I went back and forth between the related products and my recent views. It was nice to have that history close at hand.

I had a tough time deciding what to order because there’s some great stuff available here. They’ve added even more products in the two weeks since I placed my order. Did you know you can get a 3 meter USB to Dock cable? I had no idea but here it is! That would be perfect for my children who are always needing to use the iPad while it is charging because they’ve run it out of batteries. Or the Otterbox cases that readers suggested I invest in for my iPad after I had that little accident where I left my first one on top of my car. Perhaps a Crayola stylus that was okay to use on the iPad? Then again maybe not…don’t want to give the two year old any ideas. In the end I opted for practicality and went with something I’ve been needing for quite some time, a case for my MacBook.

Placing my order was a smooth process. An online chat option was available in case I had any questions. outfitYOURS offers free 4-5 day shipping on all their orders which also was a very nice surprise. Very soon after my order I received an email telling me that an account had automatically been created for me at the website so I could check my order status. I’d chosen not to do it at checkout so this convenient. I usually check out as a guest because I don’t want to go through the hassle of creating accounts and trying to remember passwords. They’d done it for me and created an automated password. It was a nice touch.

My case arrived quickly and it was exactly what had been shown on the website. Now here’s the best part. Inside the box they’d included a travel packet of iKlear. I’m not sure if that comes standard with every order or if it only comes when you order a case for something that needs cleaning. I’d already been very happy with the whole outfitYOURS experience but that little gift sealed the deal for me. iKlear used to be available in the Apple stores but they no longer carry it. Getting a travel pack was like getting gold and for five wonderful minutes (until my toddler appeared) my MacBook screen looked brand new again. Keep doling out the iKlear outfitYOURS!

Would I shop at outfitYOURS.com again? Absolutely. I usually go to Amazon first but honestly their selection often overwhelms and intimidates me. I get frustrated with too many options. It’s nice to find a smaller retailer and here you have one with quality products and fantastic customer service.
