Peek-a-Zoo: It’s Peekaboo at the Zoo

December 20, 2011

Peek-a-Zoo: It’s Peekaboo at the Zoo is a well designed, visually appealing app for toddlers. The app stars 15 animals, all playing peekaboo. They are hidden from view until your child taps the screen and then they quickly appear. When the animal pops out a child’s voice says the name. I really enjoyed the look and design of this app and I thought it featured a nice variety of animals. It’s a fun way for toddlers to learn animal names without going over flashcards. Here they are interacting with the animals and playing a game. There is also another mode to the app where the animals are shown one at a time, like they are on a tour.

The full version of the app has fifteen animals but there is also a lite version with four. That version will give you a nice taste of the app’s modern graphics and simple fun.

Chalk Walk

Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
