Peter Pan: Disney Classic Review
Don’t you just love it when the wheel spins, the tumblers unlock and the hinges of the Disney vault swing open releasing a beloved classic? On February 5, 2013 Peter Pan took to the sky once more with Tink, Wendy, John and Michael in a newly released Diamond Edition. Always up for new adventures, Peter brought his friends with him to the app world in a classic storybook version as well.
Peter Pan: Disney Classic is the perfect length for tucking little tikes in for nap or bed time, with happy thoughts, faith, trust and pixie dust. The book is a condensed version of the full story that reminds me of the picture book I had as a child. You’ll find the animations we know and love accompanied by read-along narration, music and interactive surprises. There is also an option for recording your own narration, adding your personal touch to the story.
Games and activities are tucked in some of the pages or can be accessed separately. Activities include: coloring pages, puzzles, matching games and an opportunity to play Pan’s flute. There are varying difficulty levels for the puzzles and matching games but there isn’t for the coloring pages, which are rather detailed. I think they might be a bit frustrating for small animators to use as the point is hard to maneuver. There is a zoom feature that makes coloring easier that works by touching the quadrant you want enlarged on the grid located on the tool bar. And lets face it, coloring outside the lines is part of the fun and probably more Peter’s style anyway. The flute is a fun interactive music lesson. You can listen to a song, choose to play along or just make your own melody.
I really enjoyed this visit to Neverland. I was happy to find that even with a shorter version they didn’t leave out the mermaids or Princess Tiger Lilly. The story brought back fun childhood memories and it was nice spending time where I didn’t have to grow up. Price when Reviewed: $3.99
