Postal Pix – Special Offer!!

How many photos do you have on your iPhone’s camera roll? How many of those photos are decent pictures that are waiting to be transferred over to your computer so you can have prints made? If you’re like me the answer is a number that keeps growing and growing because somehow those photos never make it off the phone. Enter PostalPix!

PostalPix allows you to order prints of the photographs on your camera roll. You use the app to submit the order, make your payment and then in a few days your prints arrive in the mail. The entire process is smooth and painless. I tried it out myself this past week and four days later I had my prints. Here’s how it works.

You begin by selecting the size of print you want. At the time of this review the current choices include 4×6, 4×4, 8×10 prints and mouse pads. The 4×4 prints are for photos that you’ve taken or altered with apps like Hipstamatic or Instagram. Additional print sizes are planned for future updates. Print prices range from 21 cents for 4×6 and 4×4 prints to $3.47 for an 8×10. Discounts are available depending on the number of prints you order and a small shipping rate will apply to your order. I found it to be a minimal amount.

After you’ve selected your print size you’ll go through your camera roll and tap on the photo that you’d like to print. It will show up as a thumbnail at the bottom of your screen. This means it’s in your shopping cart. You may visit your shopping cart to preview your prints, change quantities and delete prints. A running total of the amount you’re spending will appear at the bottom of your screen. If you have to leave the app and return again later your shopping cart is automatically saved. You can pick up right where you left off.

Once you’ve selected your prints you’ll need to create an account in order to place your order. You could always do this at the very beginning as well but I always come late to the party. Payment details will be entered through the app and you’ll also have a chance to enter in coupon codes. Last week I ordered one 8×10 print and a mix of 4×4 and 4x6s. The shipping cost was reasonable and my prints arrived within four days. I was absolutely thrilled with the way my 4×4 prints turned out. The Hipstamatic prints look incredible, just like photographs I have of when I was a child. I plan on taking many more like this and getting the prints through PostalPix. My 8×10 also blew up well, I really wasn’t sure how that one would turn out but now I have a semi-recent family photo where we all look semi-normal. Most of my 4x6s look great but I have a few that are blurry. After looking at the photos on my iPhone again I decided it’s because the original was taken in poor lighting and the quality is horrible. Those prints never had a chance. My prints came in a matte finish and I’m hopeful that eventually we’ll see a glossy option as well. Overall I’m very pleased with the quality.

I will definitely be using the PostalPix service again. The developers have made the ordering process very simple and straightforward and it was terrific to take the photos directly from my phone to prints, without file transfers or a trip to pick up photos. If you’d been shopping with my toddler lately or been in a store with my toddler lately you’d know what a HUGE bonus it is to have products delivered straight to my door. The little sanity I have left thanks PostalPix for this service!
