Rindin & Giveaway

The new Rindin app by CrocPond helps to teach young children tolerance and that our differences are what make us special. Based on the book of the same name, Rindin features an animated movie, the storybook, and a game. Rindin is a small puffer fish who is teased by the other fish because he looks different from them (especially when he is frightened). The other fish who were bullying Rindin get into some trouble with a barracuda and it is only Rindin (because of his differences) who can save them. In the end all of the fish learn that Rindin’s distinct appearance is what makes him extraordinary.
CrocPond has done a great job incorporating a lot of enjoyable elements into one app. The animation in the eight minute movie is beautiful and does a wonderful job of bringing the story of Rindin to life. In the Storybook section of the app, your child will be able to choose from three playback options. They can decide between reading the story on their own, having it read to them by a narrator, or they can also choose to record themselves reading the story. While the illustrations in the Storybook are animated, they are not interactive and this may disappoint some small readers. In addition to the movie and Storybook sections there is also a game section and in my opinion, this makes up for the lack of interaction in the Storybook section. In the game your little one will need to help Rindin navigate through the water, avoiding octopi and barracudas along the way. Another fun section of this app is an area where children can create and save their own Rindin poster. Little ones will be enticed by the diverse activities that the Rindin app has to offer.
