Snakes and Ladders Game

November 10, 2011

Snakes and Ladders is known to me as “Chutes and Ladders”, a game where players move on a game board, climbing up ladders or sliding down chutes. In this version the chutes are replaced with snakes that will be slid down. This app version of Snakes and Ladders supports from one to four players. One player will play against a “computer” opponent but more than that and children can play against each other. The game is simple, tap a spinner and then move that number of spaces on the game board. The board goes from one to one hundred and there are a number of ladders and snakes scattered along the way. The game has two modes for moving your players. You can have them automatically moved for you (good for younger players) or choose to move them yourself. This will keep older children more engaged in the game. My children’s only quibble with the app was the size of the game board. The said 100 spaces felt long, especially when you keep landing on snakes and sliding backwards on the game board.

Snakes and Ladders Game has cute graphics and a fun soundtrack. Players will hear music and children laughing and cheering in the background. Overall it’s an easy game that can be played by a variety of ages. I always appreciate games that can be played by several of my children at the same time.

Chalk Walk

Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
